Captain
David Heidt, has held his USCG license for
fifteen years and has fished these waters
regularly since he was a little boy. For ten years
he ran a 30 foot offshore fishing vessel out to the
Snapper Banks every day. He now guides short inshore
and near shore fishing trips. He is well equipped
for a variety of different fishing techniques and he
has a large territory where he is intimately
familiar with the fishing patterns and behavior
under different conditions. He works hard to put you
on the fish. He departs from a private dock on Chimney Creek, Tybee Island.

On our inshore trips
we usually fish for Trout, Spot tail Bass,
Sheepshead, and Flounder and if they are not biting
we find fish that will like Whiting, Croaker, Blue
Fish, and Sharks .We provide light and heavy tackle
depending on conditions. We always carry both live
and artificial bait. Having the right kind of bait
whether it be, artificial lures, mud minnows,
fiddler crabs, Menhaden, or Mullet can make the
difference. We leave the dock with live bait and are
equipped with nets both drag and cast, to catch bait
during the trip. The time of day and the motion of
the tide has a noticeable effect on inshore fishing
conditions. |

"I have been fishing with David for years and
the results show why. He knows Tybee waters like the
back of his hand, I always catch the bigger fish
with him!"

Atlanta, Georgia

"The first fish I ever caught, I dropped down my line and the next thing you know I had a fight on my hands. I am a small woman and it took all 120 pounds of me to get that fish in."
--Kellen Gillespie, Greenville, South Carolina

On nice flat days the captain and the boat are well equipped
to run offshore near shore wrecks and reefs. We troll for Spanish Mackerel just off the coast with Clark spoons. Later using the Spanish as bait for Barracuda. We also bring eels for Cobia and troll around the markers and towers that they haunt. Sheepshead are a lot of fun at the right time of year and we collect fiddler crabs in the marsh to use as live bait they can’t refuse. We bottom fish for black sea bass seasonally. We generally try everything fast trolling to slow trolling live bait to bottom fishing on the drift or at anchor. We work hard for you and it the results show it. |

Please call in advance so we can better schedule your trip around the tides. We have a 6 to 9 foot tide change and the
second biggest tide on the east coast. The tides are a major predictor of when you can catch fish.
